These Advertising Policies are the rulebook for what may be promoted through eFind and how every Advertisement must look and behave. They protect the people who see Advertisements, the Publishers who host them, and the honest Advertisers who compete for attention on our platform. If you run a Campaign with eFind, these rules are part of your Agreement with us.
Advertising works only when people can trust what they see. A person who clicks an Advertisement should reach the product that was promised, at the price that was shown, from a business that is who it says it is. The purpose of these Advertising Policies is to hold every Campaign to that standard. They tell you, in plain terms, which products and services are welcome on eFind, which are welcome only under conditions, and which are never allowed. They also describe how we review Advertisements, what happens when a Campaign falls short, and how you can challenge a decision you believe is wrong.
These Policies are not a checklist that guarantees approval. Advertising is judged by context, and a creative that is acceptable in one place, for one audience, at one time may be unacceptable in another. We keep the discretion to protect Users, Publishers, and the integrity of the eFind Ads platform even where a specific situation is not spelled out below. When we exercise that discretion, we aim to do so consistently, proportionately, and in line with the values of the Trust Framework: Trust, Privacy, Transparency, Fairness, and User Protection.
These Advertising Policies apply to everything an Advertiser submits to or runs through the Advertising Services. That includes the Advertisement itself in every format, whether text, image, video, audio, interactive, or a format we introduce later; the targeting, Bids, budgets, and settings of the Campaign; the Landing Page and any page a User reaches after a Click; the business and brand behind the Advertisement; and the conduct of the Advertiser and its Authorized Users on the platform. The Policies apply across all current and future eFind advertising products, including search, display, video, lead generation, and any Search, Shopping, Commerce, mobile, voice, connected-device, or AI-powered advertising offerings we may launch.
These Policies work alongside the rest of the Trust Framework rather than replacing any part of it. Where a subject has its own dedicated document, such as the Invalid Traffic Policy, the Trademark Policy, the DMCA Policy, or the AI Content Policy, that document governs its subject in detail and these Policies point to it. Where these Policies and Applicable Law both apply, you must follow the stricter of the two.
These Advertising Policies apply to every Advertiser and to every Authorized User, agency, reseller, marketing partner, or other person who creates, manages, funds, or runs a Campaign through eFind, whether for their own business or for someone else. If you act on behalf of a client, you are responsible for making sure the client and its Advertisements comply, and the client is bound by these Policies through you. You remain responsible for compliance even where part of a Campaign is created or optimized by automated tools, including AI-Assisted Advertising features.
Capitalized terms used in this document, such as Advertiser, Advertisement, Campaign, Landing Page, Restricted Industry, Prohibited Content, Sensitive Personal Information, and Personal Information, have the meanings given in the Master Definitions. A few terms are used here in a specific way: a creative means the visible or audible content of an Advertisement, including its text, images, video, audio, and interactive elements; disapproval means a decision that an Advertisement or Campaign may not run in its current form; and limited serving means a decision to reduce, restrict, or pause the delivery of an Advertisement or Account while we review a concern.
Every Advertisement on eFind is judged against four pillars. Together they cover what you promote, how you promote it, the special categories that require extra care, and the basic quality every Advertisement must meet.
An Advertisement must satisfy all four pillars to run. Passing one does not excuse failing another: a truthful, well-built Advertisement for a prohibited product is still not allowed, and an Advertisement for a perfectly lawful product is still not allowed if it uses a prohibited practice.
Prohibited Content is content that is never welcome on eFind, no matter how it is presented or targeted. The categories below describe the kinds of content we prohibit. They are examples of our approach, not an exhaustive list, and we treat attempts to promote something functionally equivalent to a prohibited category as prohibited as well.
You may not advertise anything that is illegal to sell, offer, or promote to the audience the Advertisement reaches, or that facilitates illegal activity. This includes controlled substances and the products, devices, or instructions used to make or use them; documents or services that help someone break the law; the sale of endangered or protected species and their parts; and any product or service whose sale or promotion is prohibited by Applicable Law in the places the Advertisement is shown. Because legality varies by jurisdiction, an Advertisement that is lawful in one region may be prohibited in another, and you are responsible for the places you choose to target.
You may not advertise products or services that cause serious harm or damage when used as intended, or that are primarily designed to injure or kill. This includes firearms, firearm parts that enable rapid or automatic fire, ammunition, explosives, and instructions for making weapons or explosive devices; recreational drugs and drug paraphernalia; and products that facilitate self-harm. Certain lawful, safety-oriented, or heavily regulated categories in this space may be addressed under Restricted Content where local law and our review allow, but the default position for genuinely dangerous goods is that they are prohibited.
You may not advertise counterfeit goods or services. Counterfeit goods copy a brand’s Trademark or distinctive features in a way that is intended or likely to make buyers believe they are buying the genuine article. This includes replica and knockoff products, unauthorized copies, and listings that use a brand name or logo to pass off an imitation. Promoting the sale of counterfeit goods is prohibited even when the Landing Page describes the item as a replica. Related concerns about the misuse of a brand’s Trademark in creatives are addressed in the Trademark Policy.
You may not use the Advertising Services to distribute, link to, or promote Malware or software that harms Users or their Devices. This includes viruses, spyware, ransomware, and any code that gains unauthorized access to a Device, network, or system, as well as unwanted software that installs without clear disclosure and Consent, changes a User’s settings deceptively, is hard to remove, or bundles hidden components. Advertisements, creatives, and Landing Pages must be free of code that runs without the User’s knowledge, and must not use deceptive download buttons, fake system warnings, or misleading update prompts.
You may not advertise products or services that help people deceive others or evade accountability. This includes services that create fake documents, credentials, reviews, or engagement; tools marketed for hacking, account takeover, or bypassing security or access controls; services that help students cheat, such as ghostwriting represented as the student’s own work; and products marketed for defeating drug tests, tampering with tracking, or covering up wrongdoing. The common thread is that the value of the product depends on someone being deceived.
You may not use creatives that are gratuitously shocking, violent, or disgusting, or that promote hatred, discrimination, or disparagement against people because of a protected characteristic such as race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation. This includes graphic images of injury or death used for shock value, content that harasses or intimidates, content that promotes or glorifies terrorism or violent extremism, and content that exploits a tragedy or sensitive event for commercial gain. Content that sexualizes minors in any form is absolutely prohibited, is reported to the appropriate authorities, and results in immediate termination.
Some categories, including child sexual abuse material, promotion of terrorism, and the sale of counterfeit goods or Malware, carry no warning and no gradual enforcement. We remove the content, suspend the Account, preserve evidence as the law requires, and refer the matter to law enforcement where appropriate.
Prohibited Practices are about conduct rather than the underlying product. Even an Advertisement for a lawful, welcome product is not allowed if it reaches the User through deception or abuses the platform. The following practices are prohibited across all Campaigns.
You may not deceive Users about your business, your product, or the Advertisement itself. Misrepresentation includes concealing or misstating who you are, what you sell, or why you are collecting information; hiding fees, charges, or the terms of a subscription or free trial; imitating another brand or a well-known service to trick people; and making a User believe an Advertisement is editorial content, a system message, or something other than advertising. If a reasonable person would come away with a materially false impression, the Advertisement misrepresents, even if no single statement is literally false.
You may not show eFind, our reviewers, or our automated systems one thing while showing Users something different. Cloaking includes serving a compliant page to our review systems while sending real Users to a different or non-compliant destination; using redirects, user-agent detection, geolocation, timing, or device checks to hide the true Landing Page; and manipulating a creative so that what is reviewed is not what is delivered. The destination and experience we review must be the destination and experience Users actually receive.
You may not make claims that are false, misleading, or unsupported. This includes exaggerated or unprovable promises about results, earnings, health, or performance; “guaranteed” outcomes that cannot be guaranteed; fabricated endorsements, testimonials, awards, statistics, or before-and-after comparisons; and pricing or availability claims that do not match the Landing Page. Where a claim can be objectively tested, you must be able to substantiate it with reliable evidence on request. Claims about health, safety, finances, and other high-stakes topics are held to a higher standard and may be treated as Restricted Content.
You may not use the Advertising Services to trick Users into revealing Personal Information, Sensitive Personal Information, credentials, or payment details. Phishing includes pages that impersonate a bank, retailer, government agency, or other trusted entity; fake sign-in forms; and prize, refund, or security-alert lures designed to harvest data. Any Campaign built around obtaining information under false pretenses is prohibited and is treated as a serious violation.
You may not attempt to evade, disable, delay, or interfere with our review and enforcement systems. This includes disguising the nature of a Campaign to slip past review; using text in images, obscure characters, or homoglyphs to hide words our systems would flag; creating multiple Accounts or using intermediaries to continue running content that was disapproved or an Account that was suspended; and changing a Landing Page or creative to a non-compliant version after approval. Attempting to circumvent review is itself a violation, separate from whatever the underlying content is.
You may not use the Advertising Services in ways that degrade the experience or exploit the platform. This includes generating or encouraging Invalid Traffic, artificially inflating metrics, or interfering with the auction; scraping, overloading, or reverse-engineering the Services beyond what your Agreement and our Acceptable Use Policy allow; running creatives that automatically download files, take over the screen, trigger unexpected redirects, or play disruptive audio without interaction; and any conduct designed to game targeting, pricing, or delivery. Invalid Traffic and related manipulation are addressed in detail in the Invalid Traffic Policy.
Some products and services are lawful and legitimate but sensitive enough that they are allowed only under conditions. These are Restricted Industries, and Advertisements that fall into them may run only where the Advertiser meets the applicable requirements. Conditions vary by category and jurisdiction, and may include Business Verification, licensing or certification, age or geographic targeting limits, mandatory disclosures, landing-page requirements, or explicit pre-approval. Where local law prohibits or further restricts a category, that law controls, and eFind may decline a category, or narrow it, even where the law would allow more.
Being eligible for a Restricted Industry is not automatic. You are responsible for holding the required licenses, honoring the geographic and audience limits, keeping documentation current, and complying with the specific rules for your category. Meeting the conditions permits an Advertisement to be reviewed; it does not guarantee approval.
| Restricted category | Typical conditions for eligibility |
|---|---|
| Alcohol | Age and geographic targeting limits, licensing where required, responsible-consumption messaging, and no targeting of minors or promotion of excessive or irresponsible drinking. |
| Gambling and games of chance | Valid licensing in each targeted jurisdiction, age restrictions, responsible-gambling disclosures, and prohibition of unlicensed or deceptive offers. |
| Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals | Applicable authorizations and certifications, restrictions on prescription and controlled products, substantiation of health claims, and prohibition of unapproved or unsafe treatments. |
| Financial products and services | Required licensing or registration, clear disclosure of terms, rates, and risks, and prohibition of deceptive lending, get-rich-quick, and predatory offers. |
| Cryptocurrency and digital assets | Business Verification, licensing or registration where required, geographic limits, risk disclosures, and prohibition of fraudulent tokens, unregistered offerings, and deceptive schemes. |
| Political Advertising | Identity verification, transparency and “paid for by” disclosures, adherence to election laws, and limits on targeting and timing where required. |
| Adult-oriented content | Strict age limits, non-explicit creatives, geographic restrictions, and outright prohibition of illegal, exploitative, or non-consensual material. |
Alcohol advertising is allowed only where lawful and only with targeting that excludes minors and regions where alcohol advertising is restricted. Creatives must not encourage excessive or irresponsible drinking, associate alcohol with driving or dangerous activity, target people under the legal drinking age, or make health claims. Where licensing or specific disclosures are required, you must hold and honor them.
Gambling advertising, including online betting, casino games, lotteries, and other games of chance, is allowed only where you hold the licenses required in each targeted jurisdiction and only with appropriate age limits and responsible-gambling messaging. Offers that are unlicensed, that misrepresent odds or winnings, or that target minors or vulnerable audiences are prohibited.
Healthcare, medical device, supplement, and pharmaceutical advertising is allowed only within the limits of Applicable Law and only where the relevant authorizations exist. Prescription and controlled products, unapproved treatments, and drugs that are not permitted in the targeted market are prohibited or tightly restricted. Health claims must be truthful, not misleading, and capable of substantiation, and creatives must not exploit fear or promise cures.
Advertising for loans, credit, investments, insurance, and other financial products is allowed only where you hold any required license or registration and clearly disclose the material terms, including rates, fees, and risks. Deceptive lending, hidden costs, guaranteed-return and get-rich-quick offers, and predatory practices are prohibited.
Advertising for cryptocurrency, tokens, exchanges, wallets, and related digital-asset products is allowed only where you complete Business Verification, hold any licensing or registration required in the targeted markets, include appropriate risk disclosures, and honor geographic limits. Fraudulent tokens, unregistered offerings, deceptive yield or return promises, and schemes that rely on recruiting others are prohibited.
Political Advertising, including advertising about elections, candidates, ballot measures, and matters of significant public debate, is allowed only with identity verification and clear transparency about who paid for the Advertisement. You must comply with election and campaign-finance laws in every place you target, honor any limits on targeting or timing, and refrain from voter suppression, false claims about the voting process, and impersonation of officials or bodies.
Adult-oriented advertising is heavily restricted and, in many contexts, not permitted at all. Where any adult-oriented content is allowed, it is subject to strict age limits, geographic restrictions, and non-explicit creative standards, and it must never involve minors, non-consensual material, or illegal content. Sexual services and explicit sexual content are prohibited.
We treat additional categories as sensitive and may restrict them in the same way, including tobacco, vaping, and related products; weapons-adjacent goods such as certain accessories and safety equipment; dietary and weight-loss products; dating and relationship services; debt, credit-repair, and bankruptcy services; and any category where a reasonable person would expect heightened care. We may add, remove, or change Restricted Industries and their conditions as law, risk, and our products evolve, and we will make current requirements available to Advertisers.
Even content that is welcome and promoted honestly must meet a baseline of quality. The editorial and technical standards below apply to every Advertisement, because a low-quality or broken Advertisement harms Users and Publishers even when nothing about it is deceptive.
Creatives must be clear, legible, and professional. That means correct and readable spelling, grammar, spacing, and capitalization; no gimmicky punctuation, symbol spam, or excessive capitalization used to grab attention; images and video of adequate quality that are not distorted, misleading, or unrelated to the offer; and no elements that mimic system alerts, cursors, buttons, or interface controls to trick Users into interacting. What the creative says and shows must accurately reflect the actual product, service, and offer.
Every Advertisement must send Users to a Landing Page that works and that delivers what the Advertisement promised. The Landing Page must load quickly and function on common Devices and browsers; must not be under construction, broken, parked, or a dead end; must not force a download, disable the back button, or trap the User; and must clearly relate to the creative, so that a User who clicked expecting a specific product or offer finds it. The business, product, price, and terms on the Landing Page must be consistent with the Advertisement. Serving a different destination to Users than to our reviewers is cloaking and is prohibited.
Where an Advertisement would mislead without additional context, you must provide clear and conspicuous disclosures. This includes material terms of an offer, such as the real price, recurring charges, trial-to-paid conversions, and cancellation terms; the identity of the advertiser where transparency is required, such as in Political Advertising; the nature of sponsored or affiliate relationships; and any disclosures Applicable Law requires for your category. Disclosures must be easy to see and understand, not buried, tiny, or hidden behind extra steps.
Advertisements must respect the Intellectual Property Rights of others. You may use a Trademark only where you are authorized or where the use is otherwise lawful, and you may not use a brand’s name or logo to imply an endorsement or affiliation that does not exist. You may not use copyrighted text, images, audio, or video without the right to do so. Trademark concerns and complaints are handled under the Trademark Policy, and copyright complaints and takedowns are handled under the DMCA Policy. You are responsible for ensuring that everything in your creatives and Landing Pages is either owned by you or properly licensed.
Advertising on eFind must respect the privacy of the people it reaches. How eFind and Advertisers may collect and use Personal Information for advertising is governed by the Privacy Policy, the Data Processing Addendum, and Applicable Law, and the rules below apply specifically to advertising activity.
You may not use Sensitive Personal Information to target or personalize Advertisements except where Applicable Law clearly permits it, the individual has given any required Consent, and doing so is consistent with our Policies. You may not build audiences or infer attributes in a way that reveals or relies on sensitive characteristics to serve Advertisements. Where a User has exercised an Opt-Out of targeted advertising, the sale or sharing of Personal Information, or similar rights, that choice must be honored.
You may not target or personalize Advertisements based on categories that a reasonable person would consider sensitive, or that could expose someone to discrimination, harm, or embarrassment. Prohibited targeting categories include, at a minimum: race or ethnicity; religion or philosophical belief; health or medical conditions, including physical or mental health status; sexual orientation, gender identity, or sex life; precise geolocation used to infer sensitive attributes; financial hardship or distress used to exploit vulnerability; trade-union membership; genetic or biometric characteristics; and the status of children as a sensitive audience. You also may not use targeting to exclude or disadvantage protected groups in a way that is unlawful or discriminatory. Advertisers who collect information through a Campaign must do so transparently and lawfully, with clear notice and any required Consent, and must not misuse that information.
Using an Advertisement to collect Personal Information under false pretenses, to target vulnerable people based on sensitive attributes, or to enable discrimination is a serious violation. It may result in immediate disapproval, suspension, and, where required, notification to regulators.
You may use AI-Assisted Advertising features and third-party AI tools to help create, optimize, target, price, or measure Campaigns, but doing so does not change your responsibilities under these Policies. You remain fully accountable for every Advertisement you run, whether a human or an AI system produced it. AI-generated creatives must be accurate, must not be deceptive, must not fabricate people, endorsements, or events in misleading ways, and must comply with every rule in this document. Where Applicable Law or our Policies require it, AI-generated or AI-manipulated content must be disclosed, and synthetic content that impersonates a real person or misrepresents a real event is prohibited, except clearly labeled satire or parody that Applicable Law allows and that a reasonable User would not mistake for a genuine depiction. The full standards for creating and labeling AI Content are set out in the AI Content Policy, which applies in addition to these Advertising Policies.
We enforce these Advertising Policies through a combination of automated systems and human review, before and after an Advertisement runs. Enforcement is meant to be proportionate: we match the response to the severity, the intent, and the history behind a violation, and we escalate when a problem is serious or repeated.
Advertisements, Landing Pages, and Campaigns may be reviewed at any time, including before they run, while they are running, and after changes are made. Review may use automated analysis, human evaluation, or both. Passing review does not mean an Advertisement complies: we may re-review at any time, and an Advertisement that was approved may later be disapproved if we learn more, if it changes, or if our understanding of the risk changes. We may request additional information, documentation, licenses, or verification as a condition of running certain Campaigns.
When an Advertisement or Campaign does not comply, we may disapprove it so that it cannot run in its current form. We aim to tell you the general reason for a disapproval so that you can fix the problem and resubmit. Some disapprovals are limited to a specific creative or Landing Page; others apply to a policy area across your Account.
For some concerns, rather than fully disapproving, we may limit serving: we may reduce, restrict, pause, or geographically narrow the delivery of an Advertisement, a Campaign, or an Account while we investigate, verify eligibility, or await corrections. Limited serving is a protective measure and may be lifted once the concern is resolved.
For serious, repeated, or deliberate violations, including Prohibited Content, Prohibited Practices, attempts to circumvent review, and conduct that harms Users, Publishers, or the platform, we may suspend or terminate an Account and any related Accounts. In cases involving illegal content, Fraud, or the safety of others, we may act immediately and without prior notice, preserve information as the law requires, and cooperate with law enforcement. Consequences of suspension and termination, including the treatment of balances, are addressed in the Advertiser Agreement.
If you believe a decision was made in error, you may appeal it. To appeal, use the tools in your Account or contact us at support@efind.com or 1-214-444-8126, and explain why you believe the Advertisement or Account complies, including any documentation, licenses, or context that supports your position. We will review the appeal, and a human will be involved in reviewing appeals that concern significant enforcement actions such as Account suspension. We aim to respond in a reasonable time and to explain the outcome. Some decisions, particularly those involving zero-tolerance categories, illegal content, or legal obligations, may not be reversible.
Advertise real products from a verified business, promise only what your Landing Page delivers, keep required licenses and disclosures current for Restricted Industries, respect other people’s Trademarks and copyrights, and never target on sensitive attributes. Most enforcement problems disappear when the Advertisement, the Landing Page, and the business are honestly and consistently what they claim to be.
Advertising, technology, and the law all change, and these Advertising Policies will change with them. We may update these Policies to address new products, new formats such as AI-Assisted Advertising, new risks, and new legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will post the updated Policies on this page and, where appropriate, notify Advertisers. Continuing to run Campaigns after an update means you accept the updated Policies, and you are responsible for reviewing the current version before you advertise.
